Real Madrid identify next manager when Ancelotti leaves

Real Madrid are keen to appoint Brighton head coach, Roberto de Zerbi as their next manager when Carlo Ancelotti leaves Santiago Bernabeu.

Ancelotti seems set to leave Real Madrid for a second time at the end of the current 2023/24 season.

A number of names have been mentioned as potential targets to replace the Italian, including Bayer Leverkusen manager and former Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso.

However, according to Cadena, Real Madrid will do all they can to persuade De Zerbi to take charge at the Santiago Bernabeu.

De Zerbi took over at Brighton last season from Graham Potter, joining the Premier League club after leaving Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk.

The 44-year-old immediately won Brighton fans over with his attractive and positive style of football as he led the Seagulls to a sixth-place finish in the Premier League last season and their first ever qualification for European football.
