Rangers technical adviser, Fidelis Ilechukwu says his team are not title contenders yet.
The former Plateau United coach said he is trying to build a solid team that can challenge and win tournaments in the near future.
The Flying Antelopes moved up to third position on the Nigeria Premier Football League table after the 1-0 win over Remo Stars on Wednesday.
Agu Kenechukwu scored the only goal in the game.
Ilechukwu warned against writing off his team in the battle for the title.
“The league is still open for any team to emerge champions. We will keep fighting till the end of the season,” he said in a post-match interview
“I’m not celebrating this win because I don’t want the boys to lose concentration. Heartland lost 5-1 at home which means that the league is still open. We can’t give up and we will keep on fighting till the end of the season.
“I don’t want the team to be under pressure. We are not 100% sure of winning the league.
“We are not really league contenders but you cannot still write us off. We are trying to build a team that can last and win tournaments in the future but in doing that we are positive as well.”
Rangers will be in action again in Kaduna against Nigeria Tornadoes on Saturday.
