The New Vice-Chancellor of Bingham University Karu, Nasarawa State, Prof. Haruna Ayuba, has assumed duty.
This is contained in a statement by Mr Daburi Misal, Directorate of Public Affairs, office of the Vice Chancellor on Tuesday in Karu.
According to reports that Ayuba was appointed by the University’s Board of Trustees, following recommendations of the Governing Council of the University.
Ayuba was the immediate past Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the Nasarawa State University, Keffi.
Ayuba took over from Prof. William Qurix, who served for six years meritoriously.
Misal said that the new Vice-Chancellor is a member of professional bodies such as the Association of Nigerian Geographers and the Nigerian Environmental Study/Action Team (NEST).
Ayuba is a Professor of Biogeography and Environmental Science and started his academic pursuit, at the Bayero University, Kano.
He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geography and proceeded to the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, where he earned a Master of Science and a Ph.D. in Geography with specialisation in Biogeography.
Ayuba has received numerous professional trainings from both national and international institutions such as the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, International Quality Assurance in Higher Education Cameroon (ICQAHEA).
Others were Global University Network Innovation Cameroon (GUNI), German Academic Exchange Services (DAAD), Germany Rectors Conference, Alexander VON Humboldt Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE),” the statement said.
He is also a member of the Nigerian Environmental Society (NES), and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).
