President Tinubu deeply disturbed about numerous tanker explosions, VP Shettima mourns victims

The vice president, Kashim Shettima has condemned the incessant tanker explosions that have led to the death of hundreds of Nigerians.

In a statement issued on Monday, January 27, Shettima mourned the victims of the recent explosions in Niger and Enugu states which claimed several lives including that of women and children.

In the statement shared on X, Shettima said his heart is full of sadness over the new of the recent explosions that have in Ugwu Onyeama, Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State.

He said, “I am deeply saddened that yet another tanker accident has led to the loss of lives of Nigerians, leaving others injured in this tragic incident.

“I commiserate with the people and government of Enugu over the fuel tanker fire, which claimed lives following the accident in the State.

“It is time to put an end to avoidable tanker accidents and explosions,” Shettima said.

He added that President Bola Tinubu is deeply concerned and disturbed by this incident and other tanker explosions in recent times.
