Pray for return of peace in Nigeria during Ramadan- Senator-elect, Alli tells Nigerians

The Senator-elect for Oyo South, Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli has advised Nigerians to use the one-month Ramadan fast to pray for the return of peace in Nigeria.

Alli made this disclosure on Wednesday.

According to reports, Muslims across the world today commenced the one-month Ramadan fast.

Fasting during the month of Ramadan is the fourth pillar of Islam which takes place in the ninth month of the Islamic calendar.

Alli, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) while felicitating with Muslims, urged them to use the period to continue to pray for the return of peace in the country.

Alli in a statement made available to newsmen explained that there is a need for Nigerians to use the month of Ramadan to seek the face of Allah.

He urged them to use the period to pray for the return of peace to the country and an improved economy.

He urged the citizens to use the opportunity to pray for elected leaders, especially in the just concluded elections.

He said, “As Muslims, we must use this month to seek forgiveness from God. We must also use the month to seek the return of peace to the country.

“I, therefore, urge all Muslims in Oyo state, Nigeria and the whole world to use the opportunity of this holy month to pray for elected leaders, especially in the just concluded elections in Nigeria.”
