Power outage hits parts of Abuja Wednesday

Electricity outages affect parts of the Federal Capital Territory on Wednesday.

Abuja Electricity Distribution Company disclosed this in a statement, noting that electricity will be disrupted in some areas from 9 am to 5 pm.

According to the Abuja DisCo, the planned outage on the 33kV feeder H31 Apo Transmission Substation is due to an ongoing Japan International Cooperation project work on the towers.

Consequently, the areas affected in Abuja are National Hospital, American Embassy, British Embassy, Area 1, 2, 3 and 7, Apo District, Legislative Quarters, Durumi 1, 2 & 3, Old Federal Secretariat, Kaura District, Catholic Secretariat, Amina Court, Gaduwa District, Gudu District, Apo Dutse, Efab Estates, Cedar Crest Hospital, Gudu market, Plazas in Gudu, Ebeano Supermarket, P&P Estate, Gaduwa Estate, Adisa Estate, and its environs.

“The Management of Abuja Electricity Distribution Plc. (AEDC), wishes to inform its valued customers in Abuja that there will be a planned power outage on the 33kV feeder H31 Apo Transmission Substation today, Wednesday, 10th January 2024, between 09:00 am and 5:0Opm due to an ongoing JICA project work on the towers”, AEDC stated.
