Port Harcourt Refinery Fully Operational, NNPCL insists

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has insisted that the Port Harcourt Refinery is operational.
Olufemi O. Soneye, Chief Corporate

Communications Officer NNPCL, stated that reports in a section of the media alleging that the Old Port Harcourt Refinery had been shut down were false. The refinery was re-streamed two months ago.

Reports stated that the flag-off of operations at the refinery about a month ago has been generating controversy amidst doubts in some quarters over the functioning of the refinery.
But Soneye on Saturday insisted that reports insinuating the shutdown of the refinery were totally false, saying it “is fully operational as verified a few days ago by former Group Managing Directors of NNPC.”

“Preparation for the day’s loading operation is currently ongoing.

“Members of the public are advised to discountenance such reports as they are the figments of the imagination of those who want to create artificial scarcity and rip-off Nigerians,” he added.
