Police present N43m cheques to families of 51 slain officers in Jigawa

The Nigeria Police has presented cheques of over N43m to the families of 51 slain police officers in Jigawa State.

Commissioner of Police in the state, Emmanuel Effiom Ekot presented the cheques to the families on behalf of the Inspector General on Monday at the Officers Mess, State Headquarters, Dutse.

He said the cheque presentation is part of the Group Life Assurance Benefits, Group Personal Accident, and IGP Family Welfare Insurance Schemes being given to the families of deceased Police Officers.

The CP, however, commended the efforts of the Inspector General of Police, for improving the welfare of the Officers and Men of the Nigeria Police Force and urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money for their betterment.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries Hajia Hauwa commended the IGP for the gesture and assured them to use the benefits for the betterment of their families.
