Police arrest two suspected armed robbers, recover gun in Delta

Policemen from the Orerokpe Division in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State have arrested two suspected armed robbers while others escaped into the forest in the community.

The suspects are Desmond Ejinyere and Joshua Emoefe, 18 and 20 years old males.

The Police also recovered from the suspects, one locally made cut-to-size double barrel gun and two live cartridges.

They were arrested in an operation led by the Divisional Police Officer after they allegedly robbed a victim at gunpoint in his residence and dispossessed him of 1 iPhone XR, 1 iPhone 6s, one 1 Tecno spark 2, one 1 iPhone Max, Camon 19 and Uba Atm card.

The Delta State Police Command led by CP Ari Muhammed Ali confirmed the report in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe.

He said, “the hoodlums took to their heels on sighting the Police but the team succeeded in arresting one of the suspects named Desmond Ejinyere ‘m’ 18yrs while others escaped into the bush.”

He said, “a manhunt for the fleeing members of the gang is ongoing.”
