Peter Obi continues tour of medical institutions, donates ₦10 million to Nursing College

Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra State, has continued his tour of medical institutions across Nigeria, this time visiting the College of Nursing Sciences in Amichi, Anambra State.

During the visit, Obi interacted with the management, staff, and students, commending their hard work and dedication to healthcare education.

Reflecting on his earlier efforts to revive the Amichi Diocesan Hospital, Obi shared his role in discussions that led to the establishment of the School of Nursing, which has now grown into the College of Nursing Sciences.

Obi expressed his pride in the institution’s recent achievement—a 100% pass rate in the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria exams held last November.

To support the continued success and growth of the institution, Obi donated ₦10 million to aid in the training of more nurses.

He reiterated the importance of investing in critical sectors such as education and healthcare to ensure the progress of the nation.

“I congratulate and appreciate everyone who has contributed to the success the College enjoys today, from the proprietor to the management team, the entire staff, and all the students who are training to become healthcare workers in our nation.

“I presented them with financial support of ₦10 million to aid in training more nurses.

“Through our continuous investment in these critical areas of development, we will be able to move our nation forward and build the new Nigeria we all look forward to,” he wrote on X.
