Peseiro keeps mum despite uncertainty over Super Eagles future

Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro has refused to offer any hints on his future with the team.

The 65-year-old’s contract will expire at the end of the month and there are reports the Portuguese will not be offered an extension by the Nigeria Football Federation.

Peseiro was appointed Super Eagles head coach on May 15, 2022.

Asked about his contract situation after the Super Eagles first training session ahead of Sunday’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone, the Portuguese refused to comment on his future.

“My future with the Super Eagles is to train today, tomorrow and prepare for the Sierra Leone game, beat them and qualify for AFCON,” Peseiro said.

Peseiro will lead out the Super Eagles against the Leone Stars at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium, Monrovia, Liberia on Sunday.
