PDP’s Minority Leader, Elumelu loses seat to LP’s Okolie in Delta

Mr Ndudi Elumelu, the House of Representatives Minority Leader has lost to the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Mr Ngozi Okolie, in Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency of Delta State.

Elumelu, who contested the election on the party of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), scored a total of 33,456 votes, while Okolie got a total of 53,879 votes.

Okolie was announced the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission, Returning Officer, Prof. Kenneth Ibe, on Monday in Asaba.

Meanwhile, the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is currently leading his opponents, PDP’s Atiku Abubakar and APC’s Bola Tinubu, in Saturday’s presidential election in Delta State.

Delta State is the home state of Atiku’s Deputy and the current governor, Ifeanyi Okowa.
