The People Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in 2023, Hon. Mohammed Ali Jajari, has urged the Tinubu-led administration to stop the empty rhetoric and act to protect the country from insecurity.
This is coming a day after Governor Babagana Zulum alleged that the recent suicide attacks in Borno are aimed at frustrating his administration’s resettlement programme. This was contained in a statement issued by Jajari in Maiduguri on Monday.
He said while the present government is claiming to have disrupted and dismantled criminal networks, Boko haram, kidnapping and banditry continues to ravage the lives of many ordinary citizens of Nigeria. He said, “Whereas, from the president to the lowest political office holder in Nigeria is protected by security, the ordinary masses whom they the (political office holders) swore to protect their lives, provide security and welfare are left unprotected.”
The opposition politician also said the debilitating and grinding poverty afflicts all Nigerians except those in power, adding that “There’s utter disconnect between the Nigerians and public office holders.
“We call on the federal government, states and security agencies to stop the empty rhetoric and act now.” Jajari said.
