PDP delegation visits community chief, victims in hospital

Members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who are of Southern Kaduna extraction on Monday commiserated with the chief of Atyap chiefdom, Sir Dominic Yahaya over the attack that led to the killing of 17 persons in Ungwan Wakili community, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The delegation was led by Dr John Ayuba, the running mate of Isa Ashiru, the gubernatorial candidate of PDP in the March 18 governorship and House of Assembly elections.

Others in the delegation include Senator-elect for the Southern Kaduna Senatorial District, Barr. Sunday Marshall Katung, member of the House of Representatives for Zangon Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency, Amos Gwamna, PDP House of Assembly candidate for Zangon state constituency, Hon. Sam Kambai as well as senior members and stakeholders of the PDP in the zone.

The delegation also went to the General Hospital, Kafanchan, to commiserate with those that were injured and are receiving treatment.

The delegation called on security agencies to intensify efforts towards the arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators of the heinous act and also beef up security in the area to forestall future occurrences.

After praying for those receiving treatment, the delegation informed the management of the hospital of its decision to settle the medical bills of all the victims of the attack.

The PDP team also called on government and good-spirited individuals to support the people with relief materials, while also imploring the people of the community to remain calm and peaceful over the incident, and desist from taking the law into their hands.

The PDP team assured the community of its readiness to provide succour to the injured and displaced.
