Oyo is one of the safest states in Nigeria – Makinde

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has claimed that the state is one of the most peaceful states in the country.

Makinde made this disclosure on Wednesday.

He spoke while receiving members of the Federal Polytechnic, Ayede, Ogbomoso Governing Council in Ibadan, the state capital.

Newsmen gathered that the institution located in Ogbomoso geo-political zone of the state is one of the federal polytechnics established recently by the federal government.

The governor while receiving members of the governing council led by Professor Dakas James, said that contrary to insinuations, Oyo state is one of the most peaceful states in the country.

He said that the new institution will operate in a safe and secured environment.

Makinde said, “Let me also say this without any fear of contradiction that Oyo is one of the safest states in Nigeria.

“So, you will be operating in a safe and secure environment”.

Makinde, while speaking further, maintained that education is a top priority of his administration.

He said that his government will deploy Amotekun Corps to ensure the school operates in a safe and secure environment.

“You have my commitment that we will do everything possible within the resources available to the government to allow you to take off as quickly as possible”.
