Over 400 bandits planning attacks in Zamfara hit by NAF airstrikes

Over 400 suspected bandits have been hit by airstrikes launched by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).

It was gathered that the bandits had planned to launch coordinated attacks on various locations across Zamfara state.

In a statement issued on Monday, August 11, NAF Spokesman, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodam said the airstrikes were carried out under the Operation Fasan Yamma on Sunday.

According to Ejodam, the airstrikes hit bandits numbering about 400 while they were planning to attack a farming community in the state.

He said the Nigerian Military through a combined air and ground operation on Makakkari forest neutralised scores of the terrorists.

He added that Intelligence Surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) confirmed movements of over 400 bandits with the plan to attack the Zamfara community by launching a deadly attack on its residents.

Ejodam said the airstrike was conducted with precision and ground assaults on the terrorists who met their waterloo.
