Outcome of Imo, Kogi elections, vote of confidence on APC – Barau

The Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin has congratulated Governor Hope Uzodinma and Usman Ododo on their victories at the just concluded elections in Imo and Kogi States, respectively.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Uzodinma and Ododo, the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as winners of the governorship elections conducted in Imo and Kogi states on Saturday.

Senator Barau, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, described the victories of Uzodinma and Ododo as the expression of the confidence of the people of the two states in the programmes and policies of the APC.

The victories, he said, would enable Governor Uzodinma to consolidate his developmental projects in Imo State and Ododo to continue the pro-people programmes of Governor Yahaya Bello in Kogi State.

“The victory is also a result of the visionary leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the national chairman of our great party, Dr Addullahi Umar Ganduje, which has made our party more cohesive,” he said.
