Osun education ministry reads riot act to land grabbers

Osun State Government has expressed its displeasure on the cases of encroachment into lands belonging to public schools across the State.

According to a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Murtala Jimoh, what the land grabbers are doing is nothing but pure impunity and lack of respect for the laws.

The statement warned individuals and families and groups that have encroached on school lands or are planning to do so to vacate all encroached government properties without further delay.

“Government will definitely take back the possession of all school lands that had hitherto been encroached on; all encroachers will be prosecuted,” he said.

The statement, however, enjoined school heads to go about their businesses without fear of intimidation as the government has mapped out necessary machinery to guard against further encroachment.
