Osinbajo off to Kenya to deliver paper on governance within Africa

Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo is set to deliver a thought provoking lecture on governance and its implications for Africa.

He is expected to deliver the lecture at the 2023 Mo Ibrahim Governance Weekend with the theme: “Global Africa”which will be taking place in Nairobi, Kenya, this weekend.

Recall that the Mo Ibrahim Foundation, the coordinator of the annual forum, was established in 2006 with a critical focus on the importance of good governance and leadership structure for Africa.

Tagged The Ibrahim Governance Weekend (IGW), is expected to attract leading voices from across Africa and beyond to deliberate on germane issues around the progress of the African Continent.

The Vice President, Osinbajo is billed to speak as one of the guest lecturers, alongside other world leaders such as Kenyan President William Ruto, Ex-President of the African Development Bank, Mr. Donald Kaberuka, and Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the WTO, among others.

He will join other leaders to dissect issues around “Africa’s Weight in the World, Highlighting the Continent’s Assets and Potentials.”

At the opening session, the 2021 Ibrahim Laureate President, Mahamadou Issoufou would be honoured in person at an event to be attended by leaders from Africa and across the world.

Besides participating in the IGW, the VP is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with President Ruto and the British Minister of State for Development and Africa, Rt. Hon. Andrew Mitchell MP.

Osinbajo would depart Abuja for Nairobi on Friday.
