Osayi-Samuel doubtful for Super Eagles, Leone Stars clash

Turkish Super Lig giants, Fenerbahce have confirmed defender Bright Osayi-Samuel sustained an injury in training.

The former league champions, however, failed to reveal when the Nigeria international will return to action.

“MRI imaging was performed at Altunizade Hospital Acibadem Saglik Grubu Altunizade hospital after the blow received in training by Bright Osayi Samuel. As a result of the screening, the treatment of our player has begun for bleeding and tearing due to the injury in his left thigh muscle,” reads a statement on the club’s official website.

Osayi-Samuel is now doubtful for Nigeria’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone.

John Keister’s men will host the Super Eagles on June 18.

The 25-year-old has made three appearances for the Super Eagles.
