Opposition Preparing for Election, Tinubu, INEC Preparing for Coronation — Farotimi

‎Nigerian lawyer and activist, Dele Farotimi, has alleged that President Bola Tinubu, alongside the judiciary and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), is working to compromise the integrity of the 2027 general elections.

‎Farotimi made the claim in a post shared on X on Wednesday night, suggesting that while opposition parties are preparing for a democratic contest, certain key institutions are positioning for a predetermined outcome.

‎“The opposition are preparing for an election, INEC, the judiciary, and Tinubu are prepping for a coronation,” he wrote.

‎His remarks followed INEC’s decision to remove the names of David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola from its official portal as National Chairman and National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), respectively.

‎The electoral body also stated that it would not recognise any factions within the party or monitor conventions or congresses conducted by groups linked to the affected leaders.
