Oluomo reelected as Ogun Assembly Speaker

The immediate past Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, has been reelected for a second term.

Oluomo was elected following the inauguration of the 10th Ogun Assembly on Tuesday.

Also, Hon. Bolanle Ajayi from Yewa South State Constituency was elected as the Deputy Speaker of the House.

According to reports, Oluomo’s reelection followed hours of consultation and horse-trading among lawmakers.

The Speaker is currently on trial over allegations of N2.5 billion that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said went missing under his watch.

He represents Ifo Constituency 1 and has been in the House since 2011.

He was the Deputy Speaker from 2011 to 2019.
