NYCN expels VP, 9 others, invalidates ex Kogi Gov. Bello’s award

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), has expelled its Vice President for North Central, Comrade Muktar Akosile and five others.

The council also invalidated the award of Grand Commander Of The Nigerian Youths (GCNY), it conferred on former Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi.

The council said the award given to Bello was a scam and fake, and was done by some money-loving youths in the name of NYCN.

These were some of the resolutions of NYCN at the end of the Emergency National Management Committee Meeting it held on Sunday in Kaduna.

The meeting, however , reaffirmed the earlier award on Bello as the Doyen Of the Nigerian Youths, but insisted that constitutionally, the award of GCNY was exclusively for the President of Nigeria, and therefore a mischief to confer it on the former governor.

The NYCN also at the meeting, passed a vote of confidence on President Bola Tinubu; Gov. Uba Sani of Kaduna, and the Minister of Youth Development, Dr Jamila Bio Ibrahim.

The Minister of State for Youth Development, Hon. Ayodele Olawande; and the SSA to Tinubu on Youth Initiatives, Monitoring, and Delivery, Hon. Titilope Gbadamosi, also got NYCN’s vote of confidence.

The meeting further passed ”a vote of implicit confidence” on the current leadership of the council, led by Amb. Sukubo Sara-Igbe.

The emergency management meeting was summoned following an illegal suspension of Saraigbe and his deputy, Comrade Innocent Nduanya, by seven out of the 25 members of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the NYCN.
