NWFL Roundup: Rivers Angels, Delta Queens share spoils, Heartland earn first win

Former champions, Rivers Angels and Delta Queens battled to a 0- 0 draw in their Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) clash in Port Harcourt.

Delta Queens dropped points for the first time this season following the stalemate.

Holders Bayelsa Queens were forced to a 1-1 draw by Naija Ratels in Abuja.

Sunday Juliet gave Bayelsa Queens the lead through a header in the first half, while Agama Ziperekefeghe equalised for the hosts 17 minutes from time.

In Warri, Heartland Queens recorded their first win of the season courtesy of a 1-0 win against Royal Queens.

Orji Chiwendu netted the winning goal five minutes before the break.

Adamawa Queens recorded their third win of the campaign edging out Nasarawa Amazons 1-0 with Ijeoma Obi scoring the decisive goal.

Delta Queens top Group A with 13 points, while Bayelsa Queens sit in second position with 11 points.

Edo Queens occupy top spot in Group B with 12 points, while Adamawa Queens, Nasarawa Amazons, Abia Angels and Confluence Queens all have seven points each.
