Nunes in shock move to Chelsea

Sporting Lisbon midfielder, Matheus Nunes, is set for a shock move to Chelsea this summer.

Chelsea is ready to make their first signing of the Todd Boehly era by pressing ahead with a £43 million offer for Nunes.

According to Portuguese outlet A Bola, Chelsea is ready to ‘attack’ the market and make an offer for the 23-year-old this summer.

The Blues plan to offer around £39 million for Nunes, plus an additional £4 million in add-ons.

Chelsea’s Premier League rival, Wolves, are said to hold an interest in Nunes but the report says that a switch to Molineux ‘doesn’t appeal to the player, leaving the door open for Chelsea to plot their move.

Nunes had been linked with an exit from Sporting this summer, amid interests from Wolves and Everton although Chelsea has now emerged as the midfielder’s most likely destination.

He featured 33 times for Sporting in Liga NOS this summer, directly contributing five goals from the heart of midfield.
