NSCDC to partner Hisbah in enforcing Sharia Law in Zamfara

The Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, says it will collaborate with the Hisbah Commission to enforce Sharia Law in the state.

The Corps Commandant, Sani Mustapha stated this when a delegation from the Hisbah Commission paid him a courtesy visit in Gusau.

Mustapha averred that the Corps is ready to work closely with Hisbah in the quest to reduce the rate of criminal activities in the state.

He noted that Zamfara State is known for the practice of the Shariah Law and that the Hisbah Commission, which is the enforcement arm of the state government in ensuring that the tenets of the Shariah Law are maintained, will be supported in its operations.

The NSCDC commandant noted that the strict adherence to the Sharia injunctions could go a long way to eliminate social vices and insecurity in the state.

Earlier, the Hisbah Commission management led by the newly appointed Chairman of the Commission, Shiekh Umar Hassan Gusau, extolled the doggedness of the NSCDC in the fight against crime and insecurity in the state.

Gusau solicited the support of the NSCDC, especially in the areas of enforcement and arrest, in order to enhance the smooth operations of the Hisbah Commission.
