The Nigeria Premier Football League has congratulated Rivers United for qualifying for the 2024 NPFL U-17 Championship Playoffs.
The NPFL disclosed this in a letter sent to the club by the secretary of the Youth League committee, Dr Sunday Johnson Obaseki.
“Congratulations to players, technical crew, and management of Rivers United FC of Port Harcourt, having qualified to feature in the 2024 NPFL U-17 Championship Playoffs scheduled to hold between 18th and 24th February 2024 in Benin City, Edo State.”
Rivers United U-17 side earned qualification for the championship playoffs in Benin City after emerging winners of the South-South Zone.
The Pride of Rivers cadet team recorded seven points from three games played during the zonal qualifications in Port Harcourt.
Rivers United will battle against Katsina United, Remo Stars, Rangers, and Plateau United in the championship playoffs later in the month.
