Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe has finally given his verdict on Lionel Messi’s departure from the French Ligue 1 champions.

Mbappe said that it was not good news for Messi to leave PSG, adding that the Argentina World Cup winner did not get the respect he deserved in France.

Messi has already confirmed that he will leave PSG at the end of this month when his contract expires.

The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner will join Inter Miami on a free transfer.

It is the first time Mbappe is speaking about Messi’s departure from PSG.

The France international told Gazzetta (as quoted by Fabrizio Romano on Twitter):

“He’s one of the greatest players in the history of football. It’s never good news when someone like Messi leaves.

“I don’t quite understand why so many people were so relieved that he was gone. He didn’t get the respect he deserved in France.”
