Not convincing – Carragher reacts to Potter’s style of play after Chelsea’s draw with Salzburg

Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher has said that he was unconvinced by the system Graham Potter deployed in Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Austrian side, Salzburg in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Chelsea remained bottom of the Champions League Group E after securing a point against Salzburg on Wednesday, having lost their opening game to Dinamo Zagreb.

Sterling scored for the Blues in the second half, but Salzburg equalised through Noah Okafor following poor defending by Potter’s men.

Asked if he felt the new boss’ formation worked with Chelsea, Carragher told CBS Sports, “Not particularly.

“They didn’t win the game, they didn’t create an awful lot of chances, but that’s the way Brighton set up with Graham Potter.

“Any manager who comes in is going to put his own stamp on it, his own system.”
