No impact – Rio Ferdinand criticizes one AC Milan star after 2-0 loss to Inter

Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand has singled out Fikayo Tomori for criticism over his performance in the first leg of AC Milan’s UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg 2-0 defeat against rivals Inter Milan on Wednesday.

Inter Milan defeated AC Milan at San Siro, thanks to goals from Edin Dzeko and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

But Ferdinand was not impressed with Tomori’s display against Inter, saying the former Chelsea defender was dominated by Inter Milan attackers and had no impact on the opponent.

“I said before the game that in the big showcase games, you have to perform if you want to be propelled into being a top player, and unfortunately, today it was not one of those for him [Tomori].

“I think one thing I would say is I don’t think he won enough individual duels, I don’t think he really impacted the centre forwards with any aggressiveness or challenges to really put a marker down at any point. They dominated [him],” Ferdinand said on BT Sport.

Inter will now host AC Milan in the return leg next Tuesday.
