NNPP’s Jobe defeats Ganduje’s son in Kano Reps election

Abdulkadir Tijjani Jobe, the House of Representatives member representing Tofa, Dawakin-Tofa and Rimingado Constituency in Kano, has been reelected.

The lawmaker defeated Abba Ganduje, son of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, in Saturday’s election.

Jobe of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, polled 52,457 votes; Abba of the All Progressives Congress, APC, got 44,809.

Prof. Saminu Yahaya announced the results at the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, office in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area.

Jobe dumped the APC for the NNPP after accusing Ganduje of scheming the party’s ticket in favour of his son.
