Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku has said he would be happy to lead the forward line this season, after making his debut against Wrexham.

Nkunku scored as the Blues won 5-0 in North Carolina.

The Frenchman only joined up with his new teammates last week following his move from RB Leipzig.

Nkunku is capable of playing in several positions and started his career as a midfielder at Paris Saint-Germain.

However, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino started him through the middle against Wrexham.

“This is my position,” Nkunku replied when asked about his preferred role.

“I like to play this position to be free to move to get into space. This is my position and I’m very happy.”
