Nigerian Govt announces approval for 105 drug manufacturing firms

The Federal Government has approved 105 drug manufacturing facilities.

Mojisola Adeyeye, Director General of National Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, disclosed this in a recent statement.

The agency said the approved companies were chosen from 143 applications.

Adeyeye urged the approved firms to adhere to the Good Manufacturing Practices and GMP guidelines set by the World Health Organization, WHO, and NAFDAC GMP for Medicinal Products Regulations 2021.

The development comes amid the departure of global pharmaceutical giants such as GlaxoSmithKline, GSK and Sanofi from Nigeria.
