Nigerian government to establish national paramilitary academy

The Nigerian government has approved the establishment of the National Paramilitary Academy.

President Bola Tinubu granted approval for the institution at the Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting on Monday.

The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, stated this to the Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, in Abuja on Wednesday

According to the minister, the institution will train young citizens in paramilitary engagement after securing admission through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME.

“They will graduate as properly trained officers, ready to contribute their quota to national security, ” he said.
