A Nigerian chef, Rosemary Grace Igbadume, popularly known as RossyG from Owan East local government area of Edo State has vowed to return the Guinness World Record, GWR, for the longest cooking marathon by individual back to Nigeria.
The graduate of Ambrose Ali University Ekpoma said she is starting the cooking marathon for 21 days beginning from 10th to 31st of March 2024.
RossyG said she applied to Guinness World Record last year and the approval was given since November 2023 for her to embark on the exercise, but she is ready to start now.
“I will be attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by individual, and it would be happening at the Georges Restaurant, Jikwoyi Phase 1, Abuja.
“So far, I have gotten a venue, bought foodstuffs, team members are on ground, cameramen and other members of the media”.
Rosemary Grace Igbadume called on the public to pray and support her to return the glory back to Nigerian after an Irish chef, Alan Fisher, beat the record of set by Nigerian born Hilda Baci.
“I want to use this avenue to reach out to the public; I want them to come eat the food for free, including the less-privileged.
“I have gotten few sponsors, but corporate organizations and people of goodwill will support me.
“My family has been there for me as well some few individuals, but I really need sponsorship.
“I am prepared for this task and believe that with God on my side, victory is assured.
“I will be cooking for 21 days without sleeping. I will be having only five minutes break per hour. That is the only space permitted”.
