The Nigerian Army says it will review its ongoing operational activities across the country at the Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Annual Conference, 2023.
The Director, Army Public Relations, Brig.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, said the conference will take place in Maiduguri, Borno, from Dec. 10 to Dec. 16.
He stated that the conference with the theme ‘Personnel Motivation for Effective Operational Performance in a Joint Environment’, is an important annual event on the Army calendar.
Nwachukwu pointed out that the summit was significant in terms of national security, peace, and stability.
He added that the event would enable the Nigerian Army to make far-reaching decisions towards accomplishing its stated goal of tackling the country’s multifarious security concerns.
According to him, the conference would provide an opportunity for the COAS to communicate face-to-face with General Commanders Commanding, Field Commanders, and other senior commanders in order to provide necessary recommendations on improving army operations.
“The conference will be declared open on Monday and President Bola Tinubu is expected to grace the occasion as the Special Guest of Honour.
“The opening ceremony will feature an address to troops of Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI, an inspection of ongoing Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Maiduguri, and laying of the foundation stone of Headquarters 7 Division by the Special Guest of Honour.”
