Nigeria in critical moment – Tinubu sends message to new CAN President, Okoh

The Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has congratulated Archbishop Daniel Okoh, General Superintendent of Christ Holy Church (Odozi-Obodo), on his election as the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

Tinubu’s congratulatory message was contained in a statement by his Media Office and signed by Mr. Tunde Rahman.

Recall that CAN had on Thursday formally validated the election of Okoh as its new President.

Tinubu, who noted that Okoh is a worthy successor to Ayokunle, also lamented the current security situation in the country, saying Nigeria is in a critical moment where misguided and terrible actors attempt to destroy social harmony and reign violence on everyone.

The former Lagos State governor said: “I congratulate Rev. Okoh on his election as the new President of CAN. Rev. Okoh has truly distinguished himself as the deputy to Rev. Ayokunle.”

Tinubu added, “As a nation, we are in a critical moment where misguided and terrible actors attempt to destroy social harmony and reign violence on us all.

“These awful forces seek to stoke religious and ethnic divisions in the hope of pitting Nigerian brother against Nigerian brother. Decent and good Nigerians of all faiths must ally again with such designs.

“As Rev. Okoh assumes the mantle of leadership, it is my hope and prayer that his tenure brightens every corner of our country and may he be a shining light to all.”
