Niger: Governor Bago Appoints Abubakar Idris as New Head of Service

Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has approved the appointment of Abubakar Sadiq Idris as the new Head of Service of Niger State.

Bago, in a statement issued by the Secretary to the Government of Niger State, Alhaji Abubakar Usman, said the appointment is with immediate effect.

The governor urged the new Head of Service to discharge his responsibility within the confines of civil service rules and regulations while also bringing to bear his cognate experience in his new assignment.

The statement also urged all civil servants in the state to support and cooperate with the new Head of Service to consolidate the achievements of his predecessors.

Until his appointment, Abubakar Idris was the Permanent Secretary, General Services, in the office of the Secretary to the State Government.

He has also worked in many ministries, departments and agencies, including the Ministries of Water Resources and Solid Minerals, and Public Service Office, among others, the statement added.

According to the statement: “Civil servants in the state are enjoined to always exhibit values such as loyalty, probity, transparency and integrity in the discharge of their assigned duties.”

While thanking the immediate past HOS, Engr. Abubakar Y. Salisu, for his wonderful performances, the governor described his tenure as exceptional and rewarding.

Bago then congratulated the new Head of Service on his appointment and wished him success and God’s guidance in the performance of the arduous duties of his new office, the statement stressed.
