NDLEA seizes 478kg illicit substances in Kaduna, arrests 99 suspects

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Kaduna State recovered 478 kilogrammes of various illicit drugs in November.

This is according to a statement made on Tuesday by the command’s spokeswoman, Shuaibu Yusuf-Omale.

According to Yusuf-Omale, cocaine, heroin, cannabis, tramadol, methamphetamine, and other psychotropic substances were among the items collected.

Yusuf-Omale further stated that the command arrested 90 people during the period under consideration.

The suspects included drug traffickers, sellers, and consumers.

The spokesperson said, “In its efforts to combat the drug scourge in Kaduna State through the drug demand reduction activities, the command carried out numerous sensitization programmes across the state.

“This was intended to enlighten the citizenry on the ills associated with drug use and illicit trafficking.”
