Natasha Akpoti: Former Lawmaker Issues Advice To Opposition Senators

On Tuesday, February 25, the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio referred Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to the Ethics and Disciplinary Committee of the Red Chambers.

The decision of the Senate President follows an altercation between him (Akpabio) and Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan in the past week.

However, reacting to the decision by the Senate President to refer the matter to the committee, a former lawmaker has preferred a solution.

Shehu Sani in a post on X warned that any matter tabled before the committee can lead to the suspension of Akpoti-Uduaghan.

He urged members of the opposition parties in the senate – the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Labour Party and the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) – to work together to intervene on the matter.

Sani posted: “It’s the responsibility of the opposition Senators from the PDP,LP and NNPP to intervene and prevent the Akpabio/Natasha rift from further deterioration.

“Disciplinary Committee can only lead to suspension,” he warned.
