‎“N500,000 minimum wage causes inflation” — Sowore tackles N30m Senators’ pay

‎The 2027 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore, has questioned claims that a N500,000 minimum wage for Nigerian workers could fuel inflation, challenging the N30 million monthly pay senators allegedly receive.

‎

‎Sowore raised the issue in a post on his official X handle, where he also questioned the salaries of state governors.

‎

‎“If a minimum wage of ₦500,000 per worker will cause inflation, why are Senators in Nigeria’s NASS earning ₦30 million per month and always asking for more?” Sowore asked.

‎

‎He also questioned why governors should not stick to their stated monthly salaries, alleging that they take money from public funds.

‎

‎“Why aren’t governors sticking to their monthly salary, which is ₦700,000 per month, instead of constantly stealing from the public treasury?” he added.
