Mr. Macaroni sparks controversy over refusal to greet Sanwo-Olu

Comedian and activist, Mr. Macaroni has stirred debate after refusing to apologise for not greeting Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at a public event.

In a statement on X, he maintained his stance, declaring that if he met the governor again, he still would not greet him and would even ignore his calls.

His remarks have drawn mixed reactions, with some Nigerians applauding his defiance as a stand against alleged government impunity, while others criticised him for being disrespectful.

The controversy has fueled intense discussions on social media, with opinions sharply divided over whether his actions reflect bold activism or mere incivility.

Mr. Macaroni wrote on X: “This is the last time I will address this matter.

It is not worth my peace of mind. Since you people won’t stop attacking me because I didn’t greet Governor Sanwoolu, next time I see him, I still won’t greet him. And this time, even if he calls me I won’t answer. You people will cry today, tomorrow and forever!”
