Mason Greenwood set to join Gerrard at Al-Ettifaq

Mason Greenwood could be set for a move to join Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifa as the Saudi Arabia club is weighing up an offer for the Manchester United forward.

Man United released a statement on Monday that Greenwood is set to leave the Premier League club following the conclusion of an internal investigation into his conduct after attempted rape charges against him were dropped in February.

Greenwood is now looking for a new club, and could be offered a fresh start by Al-Ettifaq, as reported by The Sun.

Al-Ettifaq, who have won their first two league matches this season, are considering offering the 21-year-old England star a £10m-a-year contract.

This would be a significant increase on his current Man United deal which sees him earn £75,000-a-week, equating to approximately £4m-per-year.

Should Greenwood move to Al-Ettifaq, he would join up with Gerrard, who was appointed the club’s new head coach last month.
