The keenly contested governorship primaries of the Taraba State chapter of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has led to the emergence of Sunday Fudemure Manu, as the party’s gubernatorial candidate for the 2023 general elections.
Out of the 504 votes cast, Manu was observed to have polled 379, defeating his opponent, Nuhu Tinyang Dan Fikyu, who scored 99 votes.
The election, which took place in Jalingo, the State capital, last night, was noticed to have brought together the party’s members from across the State.
While announcing the results, the returning officer of the party, Nuvalga Paul Kungana said Manu emerged the winner of the election following the number of votes he scored during the exercise.
He beckoned on the party’s faithful to rally round the candidate to enable him compete favourably in the forthcoming general elections.
Visibly elated, the party’s governorship candidate, who took his time to commend the party’s leadership in the State and at the national level for conducting free, fair primaries, reiterated his determination to work round the clock to justify the confidence reposed in him by the party’s supporters.
Also speaking, his opponent at the just concluded primaries, promised to give the candidate all the needed support to emerge the number one citizen of the State come next political dispensation.
