Manchester United, Liverpool battle for Chelsea’s Mason Mount 

Chelsea midfielder, Mason Mount, could be heading to either Manchester United or Liverpool this summer, according to The Sun.

Both Jurgen Klopp of Liverpool and Erik ten Hag of Manchester United are said to be getting set to swoop on the England midfielder this season.

Both managers are keeping tabs on Mount’s contract situation at Stamford Bridge.

Mount has become one of the most important players at Stamford Bridge over the last few years.

The England international has played 160 games for the West London club and being voted the men’s team Player of the Year for two straight seasons.

Despite his influence at the club, the 23-year-old is one of the lowest paid players at the club and new owner Todd Boehly is believed to be keen to offer him improved terms.

The Sun report that Manchester United and Liverpool are among the clubs keeping an eye on what is happening.at Stamford Bridge concerning Mount.

Ten Hag, according to.the report, Erik ten Hag is said to.be a fan of the midfielder since the England star enjoyed a successful loan spell at Dutch club Vitesse in 2017-18.

United have already informed the player’s representatives that they would be interested in discussing a deal.

United would face substantial competition for Mount’s signature, however, with Liverpool and Manchester City making discreet enquiries for the Chelsea academy graduate and La Liga champions Barcelona eyeing a move.
