‘Male travellers no longer eligible’ – Qatar announces new visa policy for Nigerians

The Qatari Ministry of Interior has announced new visa regulations for Nigerian travellers.

The ministry cited recent cases of overstays as the cause of the new development.

It was learnt that, under the new policy, a confirmed return transfer must be booked alongside hotel reservations before a tourist or transit visa can be processed.

Also, eligibility has also been restricted, as only females or families are allowed to apply. Male travellers are no longer eligible unless accompanied by their families.

In addition, only 5-star hotel bookings will now be accepted for visa qualification.

The new requirements take immediate effect and apply to all pending visa applications.
