Maikaba set to be named new Kano Pillars head coach

Abdul Maikaba is set to return to Kano Pillars as head coach of the four-time Nigeria Premier League champions.

Maikaba was an assistant coach at Pillars during his early years in football management.

The experienced tactician was in charge of Rangers for two years before resigning from the post at the end of last season.

Newsmen scooped that negotiations between Maikaba and Pillars are already at an advanced stage.

Maikaba is expected to take charge of Sai Masu Gida next week.

Kano Pillars announced the sack of their technical crew on Friday.

The club secured promotion to the NPL at the Nigeria National League Super Eight playoffs earlier this month.
