Livestock ministry: Ganduje Thanks Tinubu, Vows Ministry Will Surpass Expectations

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has assured President Bola Tinubu that the Presidential Committee on Implementation of Livestock Reforms would surpass his expectations.

Ganduje assured that the committee would bring succour to Nigerians over the farmers-herders crisis.

Speaking during the inauguration of the committee at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, yesterday, Ganduje commended the president for approving the initiative.

Ganduje said, “We will surpass your expectations and bring succour to Nigerians. Once, again, we thank the President.’’

The committee is expected to address the obstacles to agricultural productivity and open up new opportunities which benefit farmers, herders, processors, and distributors in the livestock-farming value chain.

The report of the committee on livestock reforms was submitted on September 28, 2023 to the president.

The National Livestock Reforms Committee recommended that Tinubu should create a “Ministry of Livestock Resources” to, among other deliverables, reduce the decades-long gory conflict between farmers and nomadic cattle herders nationwide.
