“Liar!” – APC Chairman, Ganduje reacts to alleged ‘Threat’ on Peter Obi’s Life

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed allegations made by Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, claiming threats to his life linked to a statement by APC spokesperson Felix Morka.

In a statement released by APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, the party labeled Obi’s claims as false and a deliberate act of mischief. Ganduje criticized Obi’s assertion as “malicious” and accused him of inciting his online supporters against Morka.

Mr. Obi has made a baseless claim that Morka threatened his life. This is not only a lie but also an attempt to play the victim for emotional blackmail,” Ganduje stated.

He emphasized that Morka’s remarks during a recent interview were in response to criticisms of the APC government and were not directed at Obi personally.

Morka simply addressed issues surrounding economic policies and certain narratives propagated by the opposition. At no point did his statement constitute a threat to anyone’s life,” he clarified.

Ganduje also questioned Obi’s expectations, saying, “Does Mr. Obi expect the APC to remain silent while baseless allegations are spread against the President Bola Tinubu-led administration? Our party has a responsibility to counter falsehoods with facts.”

The APC reaffirmed its support for Morka, highlighting his role in defending the government against what it described as disinformation by opposition figures. Ganduje concluded by urging Obi to adopt a more responsible approach in disseminating information, particularly as a public figure.
