The people of Isukwuato/Umunneochi federal constituency in Abia state, on the platform of Isukwuato/Umunneochi Patriotic Stakeholders Forum, has warned factional leadership of the Labour Party and the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, to leave the Minister of State for Labour and Productivity, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, alone.
The constituents, who gathered to show solidarity to the Minister Wednesday in Abuja, expressed confidence that tbe victory of Hon Nkiriuka Onyejeocha will be validated once again.
The Tribunal had declared Onyejeocha as the winner of the House of Representatives election in Isukwuato/Umunneochi federal constituency against the Labour Party candidate.
Addressing newsmen Wednesday, Coordinator of the Forum and former Commissioner of Information in Abia state, Barrister Eze Chikamnayo, among other leaders said INEC has “the constitutional right to determine whether to retain or discontinue the legal services of it’s Lawyers and should therefore ignore the ranting and rabble rousing of the panicking faction of Labour Party.
“That the Appeal Session of the Election Petition Tribunal Court should be allowed to carry out it’s Constitutional duties without stampede, molestation and intimidation.
“That the ridiculous Press Conference by an imposter ostensibly sponsored by Amobi Ogah of a faction Labour Party for a matter that is subsisting before a Court of competent Jurisdiction is subjudice and amounts to criminal contempt of the Honourable Court.”
The Stakeholders Forum, while accessing Amobi Ogah of desperation, said some of the distorted Information shunning out were attempt to armtwist INEC and the Judges in order to deceive the public and prejudice the outcome of the trial.
“Surprisingly, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Ben Kalu is being Fingered as conspiring with Amaobi in this Campaign of calumny.
“It is a well known fact that Hon Nkiriuka Onyejeocha is a noble and very successful legislator whose sterling record of performance led to her overwhelming victory in the 2023 National Assembly polls as has been confidential by her Victory in the lower Tribunal.
“We want to warn those fanning the embers of disorder to desist immediately. We urge INEC and the Appeal Court not to be distracted or deterred.
“We believe that the tremendous victory of Hon Nkiriuka Onyejeocha will be validates once again by the Appeal Court to enable her continue her trademark delivery of outstanding democratic dividends for the greater good of our dear Constituency.”
